Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I-- I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Hmm ok why this ? well apart from the literary beauty of this poem is that it has a universal appeal. We all have been at some place where we need to choose one road, infact on second thoughts every moment there is a choice to make i guess. Now what i dont understand is that when he didnt travel the other road, how is he comparing? how does he know what difference that wud have made? I think we can look back and join the events with an imaginary line (remember joining the dots back). I like the glance, the stare, heh. anyways more sensible posts later.

hehehe... oKAY..So He isnt comparing the two roads. He is saying that he tried something new, he didnt follow. He didnt follow where others went, he took a path and created his own..
And in that simple decision of not following the "norm" or the people who traveled down the worn path b4 him, layed the difference. It doesnt matter if path 1 was better than path 2, or vice versa.

Its about making 'that' decision not to follow and having the courage to walk alone.

I love it i love it i love it love it.. hehehe if i am ever buried i'd want that on my grave. :)
